The evolution of VERA
VERA becomes a modular platform that serves as the foundation for a range of frames across multiple disciplines.
Gregario’s bespoke monocoque technology shifts the paradigm: moving away from single-model molds toward a modular platform that serves as the foundation for a range of frames, customized to the millimeter and adapted across multiple disciplines.
A new phase
When we first started developing our variable-geometry mold technology, we focused on a single model – the VERA AR aero-road – to avoid overcomplicating an already ambitious project. However, we quickly realized that our ultimate vision was far broader.
The inherent modularity of our mold allows us to go beyond bespoke geometry customization – a significant achievement in itself for a full-monocoque frame – and evolve the entire mold concept into a true platform.
A Spectrum of Cycling Disciplines
Today’s cycling landscape demands far more nuanced and specialized frame design. Forty years ago, choices were largely limited to road, track, or mountain bikes. Today, even within drop-bar bikes alone, we see race/performance, aero-road, endurance, all-round, cyclocross, gravel racing, gravel adventure/bikepacking, time trial, and track. Add flat-bar categories to the mix, and the options expand exponentially.

A non-exhaustive overview of the variety of disciplines featuring drop handlebars.
From a frame-building standpoint, transitioning from one category to an adjacent one often comes down to subtle tweaks: a couple of redesigned tubes, a tuned carbon layup for stiffness or compliance, slightly longer or wider chainstays, or minor geometry adjustments. This holds true for closely related categories—we’re certainly not talking about the gap between a bikepacking rig and a triathlon bike. Instead, a continuous spectrum of technical requirements emerges, highlighting shared traits across disciplines.
For frame builders accustomed to working with traditional tubing and jigs, these adaptations are second nature. But in the world of full-monocoque carbon manufacturing, this level of flexibility was previously unheard of.
VERA AR endurance
With the existing VERA AR mold already offering extensive geometric flexibility and modularity, creating an entirely new mold for an endurance variant would have been unnecessary. The geometric adjustments needed for an endurance setup are naturally built into our system, and the AR fork already accommodates tires up to 36 mm.
The only required modification was a new rear-triangle mold module. This increases the chainstay length to 412.5 mm (compared to the standard 405 mm) and expands wheel clearance to fit tires up to 36 mm (measured width), while also integrating Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) compatibility. This first variant will be available soon, giving riders total freedom to configure a VERA AR built specifically for long distances.

Wider tires on the VERA AR for those who prioritize endurance? No problem.
VERA GR
Applying this same philosophy, we are now designing our first gravel-focused model: the VERA GR. While it shares fewer elements with its road counterpart, it still utilizes key sections of the core mold to maintain a cohesive design language. Naturally, it features a dedicated gravel fork, while the cockpit leverages our modular handlebar mold to offer options with increased flare angles.
VERA is not a model, it’s a platform
We will share more details on the VERA GR project soon, but our core message today goes beyond a single bike: what began as a variable-geometry mold for one model (VERA AR) has evolved into a highly flexible tool, the foundation for a complete range of bespoke integral monocoque frames.
To reflect this milestone, we have updated our website structure under the VERA section. You can now explore current models, preview upcoming projects, and dive deeper into the technology driving Gregario’s innovation. Happy browsing!
